As we delve further into the topic, it emerges that gender has long been a preoccupation for her. "I've never felt 100% female, which is something people are surprised by for some reason. Be it because I wear lipstick or whatever else. I think the world's slowly getting better with blurring gender lines, but I remember being 5 through until 10 and having really short hair, and being convinced I was a boy."
Her parents – both psychotherapists – didn't deem it of professional concern. "My parents have always been advocates of individuality, so I was very lucky growing up" – in Croydon, South London – "in that I didn't have to squeeze myself into any particular box. I've got longer hair now and I do wear dresses sometimes; I am and I do identify as a woman, but I don't feel like one exclusively. And I don't think you should have to unless you want to."

Before I start this I would like to say I am not the "typical" fan girl of a person who simply does not approve of anyone in the person I love's life, anyone that I know will tell you that I respect Althea for all of her choices and for all that she is.
HOWEVER
Claude Amick is bad news!
Just look at these tweets that the Ophelia thread on L chat found and that other concerned Ophans have messaged me on.
White girl, do not talk about what you do not understand.
Anyways this isn't to run amock on Claude as a musician as I think she is decent but her personality is rotten and she is a bad influence, if you ask me, to Althea. Althea would never say the things that she said in this conversation that was overheard if she was not with Claude. FACT.
Now I don't believe the rumors of them dating. They are just friends But I worry for Althea. They were snapped together at the Brit awards earlier in the year, and then at the Artists for the Arts Benefit in NYC (Althea looked amazing) which was even worse as she was reported by Hollyzoo to have been doing coke. I spoke to some of my friends and followers about this when it happened and I answered some questions here. Althea is not the type of personality to imbibe in the drugs. @journeyyyy, however, told me that Claude, is. Althea isn't, Claude is, Althea is seen with drugs when she is spending time with Claude. FACT.
Last year I received lots of comments how Althea was looking too skinny, "heroin chic" and I defended her in saying she was touring and she is a vegetarian so she can't eat a lot on the road, not in her stressful schedule. She had started to be around Claude then. FACT.
You would think honestly that as a gay woman, she would stand up for the human beings that do not have quite the step up that her privileged, blonde, skinny white Kate Moss wannabe ass instead of calling us "tumblrinas" like a MAN would do. But no, because she is white, pretty, and thin, she can get away with saying this.
I worry about Althea. She's smart, yes, too smart to go down tht pathway. I want to see her on her own without this person by her side. JUST SAYING.
I just... sigh. I respect altheas decision to remain mum on her sexuality but she could be such a great role model for the LGBTQIA+ community. For the outcasts. i love her and I always will but I hope that she DOES make the realization and I know that we, as fans, can't make their decisions for them but sometimes I wish that we could.
So yeah, that's how it is. I just can't with this.
