Claude Amick (born 10 August 1983) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist known for her two Mercury Prize-nominated albums[1], including her eponymous debut (2011) and One Breath (2013) Early life [edit] Born Claudia Amick on 10 August 1983 in West Berlin to classical musicians Carl Amick and Ida Amick (née Kovač)[2], her family emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1986 where they were to become psychotherapists. She spent her formative years in Croydon, picking up the violin at 5 years old only to see a video of Jimi Hendrix playing the Isle of Wight Festival and realise what she really wanted to do was play guitar.
